Trance-Formations I:

Ancient Minimal Meditations

NSP-2004

This came after Wizards and is a continuation of the Wizards dark, deep electronic, minimal, meditative type music. If you liked Wizards, you will probably like this, too.

Much of my trance work is inspired by Terry Riley's early work with delayed synthesizers composing and performing long, extended, cyclic pieces in the electronic format.

This is my first attempt at very deep, meditative music. This music was composed and performed between 1981 and 1985.

This album is composed, performed and recorded using a Teac A-3440 multitrack recorder mastered to a Teac A-7300 Master 2-Track with a DeltaLab DL-4 digital delay. Instrumentation is three Sequential Circuits Pro-One synthesizers with a Yamaha SK-20 Poly-Synthesizer.

Rhythm patterns for Midday Attunement and Midnight Meditation are modulations created on the Pro-Ones.

In 2006, I used a Tascam 34B 4-track to remaster all my master tapes to digital master of 196 KHz/24 bit .WAV files using Sony Soundforge 8 software.
